Overview
My Momma Can’t Braid is a braiding workshop centered on learning, connection, and a caring approach to textured hair care. I developed a complete brand identity that feels funky, modern, and approachable. The workshops are designed for anyone who wants to learn; whether for themselves, a partner, a child, or simply as a skill they were never taught growing up. As part of the logo, I created a custom braided motif that doubles as a heart, connecting the craft of braiding with the care and connection at the heart of the workshops. I paired a bold color palette with a textured duotone photography treatment. Because the client would be producing their own photography, the treatment was designed to be easy to replicate while maintaining visual consistency across the brand. The identity was also built with flexibility in mind, allowing the logo, typography, color, and graphic elements to translate naturally across workshop materials, digital applications, and merchandise.
